Terri Ann Howard, is the founder of World of Girls and Boys Empowerment Mentorship Company. She is a dedicated entrepreneur and Youth Development Training Specialist. She first established her mentoring and leadership programs/ training classes for girls in Buffalo, NY., in 1985, out of her parent’s east side neighborhood home.
She canvassed throughout her neighborhood recruiting young girls and boys to enroll in her community outreach classes and event programs; to enhance their character, re-fine their talents, leadership development and social etiquette skills.
Many of the girls and boys who went through Terri Ann’s training classes are today making a difference. They are now, High School and College Graduates, Professionals, Wives, Husbands, Fathers, Mothers and Business Owners. She has tirelessly been creating programs, sponsoring youth events and crowning girls and boys throughout the City of Buffalo for their outstanding endeavors.
She later partnered with community organizations, that afforded her the opportunity to develop girls and boys in schools through her training curriculum. During that time, she was recognized for her outstanding work with students and was awarded Outstanding Educator of the Year, from the NY State Alliance of Black Schools Education. In addition to many other outstanding community awards.
Due to the increase of youth violence, teen promiscuity, suicidal ideations, low academic performance and school drop-out rates, she embarked on establishing a company that would empower children and young adults to make better choices and to become successful.
Terri Ann, has been empowering youth for over 25 years. She has witnessed the lifestyles of the girls and boys within her community and became despondent. She knew that she needed to do more to empower them to succeed. Her Mentorship and Leadership companies were later established, in addition to her on going Character Education Training Classes.
She enjoys seeing youth and young adults thriving and becoming successful; which has been reflective in her 22 years of dedication and commitment to the Buffalo School District. Serving in the capacity of Parent Facilitator, School Counselor, Substitute Teacher, Vendor, Volunteer and several years as a School Counselor with the Charter Schools District.
Over the years, Terri-Ann’s experiences has refined and developed her on new levels of understanding in preparation for launching the World of Girls and Boys Leadership and Mentorship Companies.
